In November 2014, I gave a talk at TEDx Brum.
It was a fifteen minute condensed version of everything I believe about how the Internet has changed business and art forever. About how the threat is not piracy, but competition. About how the future is focused on earning the right to speak to people again, and then to ask them to pay you. About enabling superfans to spend lots of money on things they really value.
It’s a way to get to the heart of what I think in 15 minutes.
It’s not yet on the official TED channel. Fewer than 10% of talks that take place at TEDx events around the world make it onto the official channel. I don’t know exactly what makes them decide to curate a talk onto their channel, but I’m optimistic that “being really popular” will help.
So can you help me? Can you watch “Love your freeloaders, love your fans”, and share it with people who think would like it. It would be great if we could hit 10,000 views by the end of April.
